Methods Microbiol Mol Biol. These losses are not only concerned in terms of revenue but it also concern in terms of health, life style and environment. To full fill consumer demand and environmental, several methods are being utilized to reduce these losses of fruits. Fruit coatings are considered as one of the widely used methods. This work investigates the effect of fruit coating developed from oligomer P , isolated from lac resin on quality of peach Prunus persica L. Fruit quality was evaluated by measuring physiological weight loss, color and textural changes as well as microbiological evaluation at a regular interval of four days. When kept at room temperature, uncoated peaches remained fresh and microbiologically safe for 4 days only while shelf life of coated peaches increased to 12 days.

Metrics details. Rhus trilobata Nutt. Anacardiaceae RHTR is a plant of Mexico that is traditionally used as an alternative treatment for several types of cancer. However, the phytochemical composition and potential toxicity of this plant have not been evaluated to support its therapeutic use. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the biological activity of RHTR against colorectal adenocarcinoma cells, determine its possible acute toxicity, and analyze its phytochemical composition. The traditional preparation was performed by decoction of stems in distilled water aqueous extract, AE , and flavonoids were concentrated with C 18 -cartridges and ethyl acetate flavonoid fraction, FF.

Traditional Chinese medication has been utilized by Chinese medical practitioners to treat the varied symptoms of diabetes mellitus DM. Notably, guava leaf has been used to treat diabetes in Asia. Our present study has been designed to analyze the action of guava leaf extract GLE at the molecular level in treating DM. A low dose of streptozotocin STZ was used to induce experimental diabetes in animals. The diabetic rats showed a reduced level of insulin, accompanied by exaggerated levels of blood glucose, lipid peroxidation product, and augmented expressions of inflammatory cytokines, and showed reduced levels of antioxidants compared to the control rats.
